How Do I Qualify For a Free Government Cell Phone?
You need to meet the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) requirements to qualify.
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a U.S. government program. It was made to assist qualifying households in paying for broadband service, on either a home internet connection, or on internet services provided through a cellular plan.
The program has been available since December of 2021, and it is designed as long-term assistance, not as a one-off payment.
As long as you continue to qualify, you will never lose your free service.
There are two ways you can qualify for the ACP, and at Easy Wireless, we are here to help you through the process.
Qualify by Household Income
Have a household income no more than 200% above the guideline amount, which varies by the number of people in your household. Below is a chart:
Qualify Through an Assistance Program
The second way is if you or someone in your household gets a government benefit like Medicaid, SSI, or even WIC. The following is a list of programs that would automatically qualify you:
- National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
- Pell Grant Awards
- Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps or SNAP)
- Supplemental Security Income
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit
