Free Lifeline Plans

Lifeline is a federal assistance program that helps eligibile low-income consumers reduce the cost of phone service. The amount of Lifeline support available depends in part on whether you live on qualifying Tribal lands.

• Non-Tribal Lifeline: Offers a discount of up to $9.25 per month on home or mobile phone service. Eligible consumers who do not live on qualifying Tribal lands may qualify through general programs like SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or veteran benefits, plus an income level at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. 

• Tribal Lifeline: Offers an enhanced discount of up to $34.25 per month and accepts all of the general programs plus specific triabl-assistance programs, such as Bureau of Indian Affairs General Ssistance, Tribal TANF, Food Distributioin Progream on Indian Reservations (FDPIR, and tribally-based Head Start. This additional support allows EASY Wireless to offer a Tribal Lifeline plan with more wireless service benefits than the standard non-Tribal plan.

You do not have to be a member of a federally recognized Tribe to receive the enhanced Tribal Lifeline benefit. Eligibility for the enhanced benefit is based on living on qualifying Tribal lands and meeting the Lifeline eligibility requirements mentioned above.
